All About Sea Star Festival 2023!

Everything is ready for the fifth-anniversary edition of Sea Star in Umag! Officially the second most attended festival last year, Sea Star opens its doors again and turns Umag’s Stella Maris lagoon into a magnificent dance floor from May 18 to 21! Tens of thousands of visitors from more than 40 countries around the world are coming to the festival, and the furious line-up is headlined by world-famous acts – The Prodigy, Robin Schulz, Mahmut Orhan, Indira Paganotto, Daria Kolosova, Etapp Kyle, Senidah, Hiljson Mandela, Krankšvester, Grše, Marko Nastić, Dejan Milićević, and many others!

This year, Sea Star will also delight with the most impressive production yet, turning the Stella Maris lagoon in Umag into a musical and visual oasis of extraordinary experience! In terms of production, this year’s festival will once again bring the spirit of Exit’s biggest stages and will be over 50% more powerful than last year’s fantastic edition!

From the Welcome Party on Thursday to the closing of the festival on Sunday, here is the day-to-day program

Sea Star Festival will launch a new festival and summer season again this year, with a rich program and energetic performances by more than 40 acts, all of which will take place on four festival stages located by the sea.

Welcome Party – Thursday, May 18

The festival will open its doors on Thursday, May 18 at 8 p.m., with an accompanying welcome party, set to take place on the Electric Waves stage, with performances by master DJs Recep, SMT#nG, VIIITO, Marcel, Pablo Panda, and Aldo Morro. Admission is free.

Day 1 – Friday, May 19, from 7:00 p.m.

The main festival program begins on Friday, May 19. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the first performances begin at 8:00 p.m. From that moment on, the Tesla Main Stage will feature powerful performances by the most prominent global and regional stars, including global hitmaker Robin Schulz, house grandmaster Mahmut Orhan, regional trap queen Senidah, trap icon Hiljson Mandela, Slovenian indie-rock powerhouse Joker Out… as well as intense b2b techno sets, performed on the Nautilus Arena stage by Daria Kolosova, Etapp Kyle, Marko Nastić, Dejan Milićević, DJ Jock

Day 2 – Saturday, May 20, from 7:00 p.m.

On the second night, one of the most sought-after world tours will arrive on the Tesla Main Stage – that of electro-punk giants The Prodigy, before the main festival stage is taken over by techno superstar Indira Paganotto, hip-hop duo Krankšvester, trap collective Podočnjaci… while the Nautilus Arena will echo with trap sound and performances by leading regional names such as Grše, Masayah, Miach, Fox & Surreal, Ružno Pače, 30zona, Buntai, and others.

Closing Party – Sunday, May 21 until noon

The festival will end with the Closing Party, which will last until noon on Sunday, May 21, and which will be hosted by Bronski, Marin Biočić, Ian F, and Marcel on the Electric Waves stage.

Entry

Entrance opening hours:
Friday, 5/19, 7 p.m. – 3 a.m.
Saturday, 5/20, 7 p.m. – 3 a.m.

Wristband will be checked from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. The festival and VIP tickets are valid for one (1) entry into the festival area during the specified time. If you leave after 7 p.m., you must purchase a valid ticket to re-enter.

In addition to festival security, the entrances are also controlled by the police to prevent the introduction of any prohibited items or substances to the festival. Vehicle entry into the festival zone will only be possible with appropriate accreditation.

Wristband Exchange

Avoid the festival crowds and redeem your voucher on time. On Thursday, wristband exchange locations will be operational from 4 p.m. to midnight, while on Friday and Saturday, they will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. (for regular tickets).

VIP tickets can be exchanged for wristbands on Friday and Saturday between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. One-day tickets do not need to be exchanged for wristbands but are taken directly to the entrance.

Festival Cashless System

The Sea Star festival presents the Sea Star Festival card, equipped with modern contactless payment technology. You can pay for drinks, food, and festival souvenirs using the cashless payment card. You can buy your card at any cash desk at the festival marked TOP UP and load it with a certain amount of money. The deposit for the first payment is €1.5, the minimum amount of the first payment is €5, and the maximum is €500. Each subsequent payment is rounded up to the nearest €1 (e.g., €7.5 is not a valid payment).

After ordering your favorite drink or food, you can pay by simply touching the card to the card reader located at each bar. You can also touch your card to the reader at any time to check the balance. Take care that no one is in the process of paying for their order at the time of checking your balance so that the amount is not deducted from your card.

Refund

Any amount remaining on the card can be refunded, but the refund must be made before leaving the festival or by 6 p.m. on Sunday, 5/21, at a location near the Electric Waves stage.

Sunny Periods and Favorable Weather

Along with the bombastic performances by world-famous acts, the beginning of the new summer and festival season will also be marked by favorable weather. Pleasant sunny periods with daily temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius await us in the lagoon.

Social Activism at Sea Star

The fifth-anniversary edition of Sea Star will keep up the tradition of delivering interesting non-musical events, including the stand-out panel “Development of the Tourist Offer in the Off-Season,” focused on one of the festival’s primary missions.

Aside from the panel, all visitors to the Stella Maris lagoon on May 19 and 20 will be able to get information about and actively participate in campaigns centered around environmental preservation, such as RECAN’s Pixelata, as well as the large humanitarian campaign Stars4Kids.

Lost and Found

The Lost & Found counter is located at the main top-up point near the main festival entrance. Whatever items remain uncollected during the festival will be taken to the Umag Police Station at Jadranska Cesta 11.

Tickets

A limited contingent of festival tickets is available for sale at the pre-final price of €49. In addition to these, also on offer are single-day tickets for €29, as well as VIP Gold tickets and Onstage Experience VIP tickets, providing access to the main stages. The pre-final price of festival tickets is €21 lower than the final price that will be in effect on the first day of the festival.
